Sir Jackson was a Time Traveler. He was kind and brave. He wore a little coat with big pockets. In his pocket he kept a tiny clock. Tick-tock.
Today, Sir Jackson walked into the Enchanted Forest. The trees hummed softly. Leaves sparkled like stickers. A squirrel waved. “Hi!”
Sir Jackson whispered, “I am looking for treasure. But I must be careful.”
From behind a mushroom, a Treasure Hunter popped out. Her name was Mira. She had a map and a shiny scoop. She smiled wide.
“I love treasure!” said Mira. “Do you want help?”
Sir Jackson nodded. “Yes, please. Teamwork.”
They followed the map. Step-step. The path was twisty. A brook giggled.
Then they heard a deep voice. “Stop.”
An Ancient Guardian stood by an old stone arch. It was tall and quiet. Its eyes looked like green lanterns.
Mira held her map tight. Sir Jackson held his tiny clock.
The Guardian said, “No taking. Only kind hearts may pass.”
Sir Jackson bowed. “We are gentle. We share. We do not grab.”
Mira added, “We can leave a thank-you gift!”
The Guardian blinked once. “Show me.”
Sir Jackson saw a baby bird on the ground. Its wing looked sore. The bird peeped, “Peep.”
Mira gasped. “Oh no.”
Sir Jackson said, “I can help. I travel time, but I must do it softly.”
He opened his pocket. Tick-tock.
He turned the tiny clock just a little. Not big. Just a little.
The moment slowed. The wind went “whoooo” very slow.
Sir Jackson gently lifted the bird and placed it in a warm nest. Mira brought a soft leaf like a blanket.
Then Sir Jackson turned the clock back. Tick-tock! The forest moved again.
The bird’s mama flew in. Flap-flap! She chirped happily.
The Ancient Guardian watched. Its hard face looked softer.
“You used time to help,” it rumbled. “Not to take.”
Sir Jackson said, “Helping first.”
The Guardian stepped aside. The stone arch glowed. “Pass.”
Mira squealed, “Yay!”
They walked through the arch. On the other side was a small clearing. In the middle sat a wooden box with a silver lock.
Mira whispered, “Treasure.”
The lock had no key. It had three pictures: a heart, a hand, and a clock.
Sir Jackson tapped the heart. “Be kind.”
Mira tapped the hand. “Share.”
Sir Jackson tapped the clock. “Use time wisely.”
Click!
The box opened. Inside were bright, round gems like candies, but not for eating. They were light-gems. They glowed in many colors.
Mira clapped. “So pretty!”
Sir Jackson smiled. “A real treasure.”
The Ancient Guardian appeared again. “One more thing,” it said.
Sir Jackson stood tall. “Yes?”
The Guardian placed a small golden badge in Sir Jackson’s palm. It was shaped like a tiny clock leaf.
“Forest Time Friend,” said the Guardian.
Sir Jackson’s eyes went wide. “For me?”
“For you,” said the Guardian, “and for your helper.”
Mira got a badge too. She hugged it.
They put the light-gems in Sir Jackson’s big pockets. Not too many. Just enough.
As they walked home, the Enchanted Forest looked brighter. The trees seemed to smile.
Mira said, “Next time, we hunt treasure and help again.”
Sir Jackson nodded. “Yes. Tick-tock. Together.”
And the tiny clock in his pocket went tick-tock, happy and calm.
