Lyra was a little Fairy in the Spirit Garden. She was gentle and brave, but sometimes shy. Her wings went flap-flap when she got excited.
In the garden lived a Princess too. The Princess wore a tiny crown and liked to help. She waved and said, “Hi, Lyra!”
Lyra looked around. “Something is missing,” she whispered.
The Spirit Garden had a special Glow Bell. It made soft light at night. Now the bell was quiet. No glow.
The Princess frowned. “No light? Oh no. Let’s find it.”
They walked on a mossy path. Squish, squish.
They passed big leaves. They passed small flowers. A sleepy snail blinked.
Lyra listened. “Do you hear that?”
A warm rumble came from behind a hill. Grrr-rumble.
A Dragon lifted his head. He was very big. His scales were green like shiny peas. He looked grumpy, but also tired.
The Princess held Lyra’s hand. “Dragon…”
Lyra took a small breath. “Hello, Dragon.”
The Dragon blinked. “Hello,” he said in a low voice. “I did not mean to scare you.”
Lyra pointed. “Did you take the Glow Bell?”
The Dragon looked away. “I took it… just for a little. My cave was too dark. I wanted a night-light.”
The Princess said, “But the Spirit Garden needs it. The flowers feel lonely in the dark.”
Lyra stepped closer. Her voice was soft. “We can help you, Dragon. We can make you a new light.”
The Dragon’s tail swished. “A new light?”
Lyra nodded. “Yes. A bright treasure light.”
They searched together. The Princess found a smooth moon-stone. “Cool!”
Lyra found sparkly dew on a leaf. “Shiny!”
The Dragon found a golden seed stuck in his claw. “Oops. Here.”
They brought the things to a quiet pond. Plip, plip.
Lyra raised her tiny hands. She was shy, but she tried. “Magic, please,” she whispered.
The Princess sang, “La la light!”
The Dragon blew a very gentle puff of warm air. Whooo.
The moon-stone glowed. The dew twinkled. The golden seed opened like a little lamp.
A new lantern popped up: a Glow Acorn! It was small and bright.
The Dragon smiled. “For my cave?”
Lyra nodded. “Yes. And the Glow Bell goes back home.”
The Dragon carried the bell carefully, like a baby. They walked back. Tap, tap.
Lyra hung the Glow Bell on its hook. Ding… ding…
Light spilled over the Spirit Garden. Flowers lifted their heads. Fireflies danced.
The Princess clapped. “We did it!”
The Dragon put the Glow Acorn in his cave. It made a cozy circle of light.
He said, “Thank you. I will ask next time.”
Lyra felt warm inside. “And I will speak up, even when I’m shy.”
The Princess gave Lyra a tiny reward: a pocket pouch of star-sugar seeds. “For you,” she said.
Lyra giggled. “Sweet treasure!”
That night, the Spirit Garden glowed, the Dragon rested, and Lyra’s wings went flap-flap-flap, proud and happy.
