The Lady Hazels Arctic Adventure

The Lady Hazel is a little girl. She is brave and kind. She lives in the Arctic. She lives in a small igloo. The igloo is warm inside. A soft lamp glows. A little table stands inside. A wool rug lies on the floor. The outside is cold. Wind blows. Snow glitters. The sky is blue. Small clouds float. The air is crisp. Hazel loves winter. She loves the snow. She loves the soft flakes. She loves the cold breeze. One morning she wakes up. She puts on her red coat. She zips it tight. She puts on warm boots. She grabs her mittens. She steps outside. She breathes in. She smells fresh air. Then she hears a sound. A gentle rumble. Hazel stops. She looks around. She sees Mammoth. Mammoth is her friend. He is a baby mammoth. He is big and fluffy. He has soft ivory tusks. His fur is white and warm. He looks sad. He stomps his feet. His eyes are round. Hazel runs to him. She kneels in the snow. She asks gently: Where is your hat? Mammoth waves his trunk. He shows empty head. Hazel sees a red hat in the snow. She picks it up. She calls: Here it is! Mammoth trumpets happily. He takes the red hat. He puts it on. It fits his big head. It warms his ears. Hazel smiles. They dance in the snow. They laugh together. A small shadow falls. A little dragon lands. The dragon is bright green. He has small wings. He has big golden eyes. He looks curious. Hazel asks quietly: Did you find a hat? The dragon nods. He steps forward. He pushes the hat back. Hazel thanks him. She pats his soft scales. The dragon likes kindness. He flaps his wings. He smiles a toothy grin. He bows. Hazel laughs. Mammoth wags his tail. They are new friends. The dragon offers to play. They slide down a snow hill. They build a small castle. They stack snow blocks. Hazel makes a tower. Mammoth makes a wall. The dragon makes a gate. They step back. They admire their work. The sun moves low. The sky turns pink. Hazel sighs with joy. She says: I am proud of you. They all hug. They watch the colors. Then the dragon waves. He flies away slowly. Mammoth yawns. Hazel holds his trunk. She says: Let us go home. They walk back to the igloo. Hazel lights the lamp. Mammoth pats the rug. Hazel warms cocoa. She gives Mammoth a bowl. He drinks and smiles. Hazel takes a cookie. She smiles too. Then she says: Good night, friend. Mammoth lies down. Hazel tucks him in with soft blanket. Hazel yawns. She steps outside. She looks at the stars. The sky is quiet. She whispers: Thank you for today. She goes inside. She rests. She dreams of snow adventures. She sleeps safe and warm. The end. Tomorrow she will play again. She will smile more. She will dream bigger.
