Splash Splash with Daddy is a boy. He is small, but brave. He loves water sounds. Plip. Plop.
Today he is in the house. The house feels warm. Daddy says, “Bath time, little captain.”
Splash Splash with Daddy holds his blue cup. He smiles. “Splash splash!”
In the bathroom, the tub waits. The towel waits. The bubbles wait.
Then—oh no.
The yellow duck is gone.
Splash Splash with Daddy looks left. He looks right. “Ducky?” he whispers.
Daddy kneels. “We can find it together.”
A soft thump comes from the hallway closet. Thump. Thump.
Splash Splash with Daddy blinks. “What is that?”
Daddy opens the closet a little.
Inside is… Prehistoric Man!
He is big and hairy, but his eyes are kind. He wears a funny necklace of buttons. He holds a tiny comb like it is a treasure.
Prehistoric Man says, very slow, “Hullo. I lost… quack toy.”
Splash Splash with Daddy is not scared. He is curious. He points. “Ducky!”
Prehistoric Man nods. “Yes. Ducky run. Hide.”
Daddy smiles. “Let’s help.”
They tiptoe to the living room. Tip. Toe. Tip. Toe.
On the rug is a line of wet dots. Plip, plip, plip.
Splash Splash with Daddy giggles. “Ducky footprints!”
They follow the dots to the kitchen. The dots stop near a big pot.
Splash Splash with Daddy peers in. “Hello?”
A small squeak answers. “Quack!”
The duck is inside the pot, sitting on a spoon like a boat.
Prehistoric Man claps. “Boat duck!”
Daddy says, “We need a gentle rescue.”
Splash Splash with Daddy uses his blue cup. He pours a little water into the pot. Just a little. The duck floats up.
Daddy lifts the duck out. “Safe!”
Splash Splash with Daddy hugs the duck. “Mine!”
Prehistoric Man pats his own chest. “Friend.”
Daddy says, “Friends share.”
Splash Splash with Daddy thinks. He is sweet. He hands the duck to Prehistoric Man for one moment. “Hold.”
Prehistoric Man holds it like a baby bird. He smiles wide. “Quack friend!”
Now bath time.
In the tub, bubbles pile up. Fluffy. White.
Splash Splash with Daddy splashes. Splash. Splash.
Prehistoric Man sits on the bath mat. He watches. He makes silly drum sounds on an empty shampoo bottle. “Boom. Boom.”
Splash Splash with Daddy laughs so hard his nose crinkles.
Daddy says, “Captain, you did a smart cup pour.”
Splash Splash with Daddy feels proud.
Then Daddy reaches under the sink. “I have something.”
He pulls out a new bath treasure: a shiny floating boat with a little flag.
Splash Splash with Daddy gasps. “Boat!”
Daddy says, “For teamwork.”
Prehistoric Man points at the flag. “Mine time… little flag?”
Splash Splash with Daddy nods and gives him a small sticker flag from the pack.
Prehistoric Man sticks it on his button necklace. “I king of buttons!”
Everyone laughs.
The duck rides in the new boat. The boat goes around the tub. Zoom. Slow. Zoom.
Splash Splash with Daddy learns a new skill today: pour gentle, not big.
When the bath is done, Daddy wraps him in the towel burrito.
Splash Splash with Daddy waves. “Bye, Prehistoric Man!”
Prehistoric Man waves back. “Bye, Splash Splash with Daddy. Good find.”
In the warm house, the duck and the boat are safe.
And the little captain is happy, clean, and brave.
