Luna and the Lost Bell

Luna is a little girl in the Enchanted Forest. She is small. She is kind. She is brave, even when she feels shy.

Today, Luna has a shiny bell on her bag. Ding-ding! It helps her feel safe.

But oh no.
The bell is gone.
Luna looks left. Luna looks right.
“Where are you, bell?” she whispers.

A big soft shadow steps out from behind a fern.
It is a Yeti.
He is tall. He is fluffy. His eyes are gentle.
He gives a tiny wave.
“Hello,” says the Yeti. “I am Momo. Are you sad?”

Luna nods.
“My bell is lost,” she says.
Momo puts a hand on his fluffy chest.
“Let’s find it,” he says. “Together.”

They walk on a mossy path.
The trees sparkle like they are wearing tiny lights.
A mushroom goes “boop” when Luna taps it.
Luna giggles.

“Listen,” says Momo.
They stop.
They hear a faint sound.
Clink… clink…

Luna’s eyes grow wide.
“That sounds like my bell!”

They follow the sound to a little stream.
A pebble jumps: plip!
A leaf spins: whish!
No bell.

Luna’s lower lip trembles.
Momo kneels down.
“It is okay to feel sad,” he says. “We keep looking.”

They walk to a dark bush.
Something rustles.
A Bandit pops out.
He wears a patchy coat. He holds a small sack.
He looks sneaky.

The Bandit grins.
“I found a shiny bell,” he says. “Mine now.”

Luna feels scared.
Her toes curl.
But she holds her hands tight.
“I need it,” Luna says, softly.

Momo leans close.
He whispers, “We can be smart and gentle.”

Luna takes a slow breath.
She points to a bright blue berry on a branch.
“Bandit,” Luna says, “do you like treats?”

The Bandit blinks.
“Treats?”

Momo smiles.
He pulls out a tiny jar of honey from his pouch.
“Sweet,” he says.

The Bandit sniffs.
His grin turns hungry.
He steps closer.

Luna holds the berry up high.
“Trade?” she asks.

The Bandit thinks.
He looks at the honey.
He looks at the berry.
His fingers loosen.

Clink!
The bell slips from his sack and drops onto the moss.

Luna’s heart jumps.
She bends down fast.
She picks up the bell.
Ding-ding!

Momo gives the Bandit the berry and a tiny lick of honey.
“Be kind,” Momo says.
The Bandit chews.
His shoulders drop.
“Okay,” he mumbles. “No more taking.”
He shuffles away, quieter now.

Luna hugs her bell.
“I was brave,” she says.
“You were brave,” says Momo.

They walk to a sunny clearing.
In the grass, Luna finds something else.
A small wooden box, half buried.
“Look!” Luna says.

Momo helps her open it.
Inside are three star stickers and one little gold coin that shines like warm light.
A real treasure!

Luna laughs.
She puts a star sticker on Momo’s fluffy arm.
Momo laughs too.

Luna puts the gold coin in her pocket.
She puts her bell back on her bag.
Ding-ding, ding-ding.

The Enchanted Forest feels friendly again.
Luna waves to Momo.
“Thank you,” she says.
Momo waves back.
“Any time,” he says.

Luna walks home with her bell, her treasure, and a happy, brave heart.
