Hunter and the Two Drums

Kids stories

Hunter protector of Toylandia, a gentle Ninja, enters the Haunted Mansion to find a lost toy drum. With a kind Sorcerer, he faces a sneaky Bandit and turns a scary night into a happy, sharing boom-boom.
Hunter and the Two Drums

In Toylandia, a tiny Ninja tip-toed.
His name was Hunter protector of Toylandia.
He was brave, but also very gentle.
He liked quiet steps. Tap-tap. Soft-soft.

Tonight, Hunter had a big job.
A red toy drum was gone.
Without the drum, the toys could not march.
The toys felt sad.

“Don’t cry,” said Hunter.
“I will find it.”
He took a little lantern.
Glow, glow.

He walked to the Haunted Mansion.
The house was old.
The door went creak.
A curtain moved: swish.
Hunter’s knees felt wobbly.
But he breathed in.
“I can do it,” he whispered.

A Sorcerer floated down the hall.
He wore a long robe.
His eyes were kind.
“Hello, small Ninja,” said Sorcerer.
“I heard a drum go boom-boom.”

Hunter bowed.
“Please help me,” he said.
Sorcerer nodded.
“Together,” said Sorcerer.

They listened.
Tick-tock. Drip-drop.
Then—faint—boom… boom…
“Upstairs,” said Hunter.

On the stairs, a shadow jumped.
“Boo!”
Hunter hugged his lantern.
Sorcerer chuckled.
“It is only a coat,” said Sorcerer.
Hunter giggled.
“Coat is silly,” he said.

At the top, they saw a Bandit.
Bandit had a bag.
The bag went clink.
Bandit was sneaky.
He held the red toy drum.

Bandit said, “Mine!”
Hunter said, “No. Toys need it.”
Bandit frowned.
He ran.
Tap-tap-tap!

Hunter ran, too.
Fast feet. Quiet feet.
Sorcerer waved a hand.
“Slow, little Bandit,” he said.
A soft blue ribbon of magic whooshed.
Not scary.
Just gentle.
Bandit’s feet went sloooow.

Hunter reached the drum.
He did not grab.
He spoke softly.
“Bandit, are you lonely?”
Bandit blinked.
His shoulders dropped.
“I wanted the boom-boom,” Bandit mumbled.
“I wanted to play.”

Hunter nodded.
“You can play,” he said.
“But we share.”
Sorcerer smiled.
“I can make a second drum,” said Sorcerer.
He tapped his staff: ting!
A new small drum appeared.
Green and shiny.

Bandit’s eyes went wide.
“For me?”
“For you,” said Hunter.
Bandit hugged the green drum.
“Thank you,” he whispered.

They went back downstairs.
The Haunted Mansion felt less spooky now.
The walls seemed to sigh.
The air felt warm.

In Toylandia, the toys cheered.
Hunter gave back the red drum.
Boom-boom! Boom-boom!
Bandit played the green drum.
Boom! Boom!
Two drums!
Double fun!

Sorcerer said, “You were brave, Hunter.”
Hunter said, “I was scared.”
Sorcerer nodded.
“Brave can be scared,” he said.

The toys gave Hunter a reward.
A shiny Ninja badge, gold like the sun.
It sparkled: blink-blink.
Hunter wore it on his belt.
He stood tall.

Hunter protector of Toylandia smiled.
“Good night,” he said.
And the Haunted Mansion stayed quiet.
No more stealing.
Only sharing.
Only drums.
Only happy boom-boom in Toylandia.
