Sir Ben and the Flying Hat

Sir Ben is a cowboy. He lives on a high mountain. He wears boots and a big hat. He loves his hat very much. He rides a small horse each day. He greets the sun with a song. He picks bright flowers in the field. The flowers dance in the wind. One morning a strong wind blows. The wind lifts Sir Ben’s hat. The hat flies up to the sky. Sir Ben runs after the hat. He runs past tall green trees. The horse trots close behind him. Sir Ben calls out, My hat! He chases it over a stone. The hat drifts near a stream. Sir Ben stops at the water. Suddenly he meets a princess. The princess wears a pink dress. She holds a small golden flower. She smiles and asks, Hello cowboy? Sir Ben says, My hat flew away. The princess nods and offers help. They walk along the stream. Next they see a wise queen. The queen sits on a wooden bench. She wears a bright shiny crown. She listens to Sir Ben’s story. The queen thinks and says, Let us look. She guides them down the path. A bandit jumps from behind a rock. He wears a dark mask and cape. He holds Sir Ben’s hat in hand. He laughs, This hat is mine now! Sir Ben steps forward, Please give it back. The princess stands tall by Sir Ben. The queen taps her golden scepter. The flower from the princess glows softly. The horse snorts and moves forward. The bandit looks at them all. He hears the horse’s soft neigh. He sees the kind faces around him. He feels a little shy. Sir Ben gently asks, Would you like to share? The princess says, We can work together. The queen offers a flower to the bandit. The flower glitters in his hand. The bandit’s mask falls off. He looks surprised and then he smiles. Sir Ben picks up his hat. He tips it with respect. The bandit bows his head shyly. He says, I am sorry, cowboy. Sir Ben says, That is okay, friend. The princess claps with joy. The queen nods in approval. The flower dances on its stem. The horse neighs with excitement. They all feel happy now. Sir Ben puts his hat back on. He waves goodbye to his new friend. The princess gives him a bright flower. The queen gives him a small gift. The horse prances with a proud step. Sir Ben thanks everyone kindly. The friends walk back to the mountain top. They share a laugh on the trail. They sing a gentle song together. The sun shines warmly on their heads. At the top they see the wide view. The mountain glows gold in sunset light. Sir Ben feels safe and proud. He learns that friends can help us. He learns that sharing brings joy. He learns that kindness changes hearts. He looks at his hat and smiles. He says, Thank you for the help. Then he rides home with pride. He dreams of new happy days.
